Scotland Staycations & Campervan Weddings in 2021
We are delighted to confirm that we are planning our re-opening for mid June 2021. Provided the virus prevalence remains low and the vaccination rates are high, we anticipate being able to reopen safely then.
Our self-drive hire VW campervans can be booked via our website where all availability and prices can also be found.
To enquire about our chauffeur driven VW splitscreen microbus, please email all (pick-up and drop-off) locations and your Wedding or Event date to [email protected]
Throughout the pandemic we have been fully refunding all bookings that could not go ahead. Although we hope that there will be no statutory halt of our service, we continue to follow Scottish Government advice. Should your booking not happen due to local covid protection level differences between the area you live in, the area we live in or the area our business is in, you will have the option to move dates or have a full refund.
If you hoped to go on holiday to an area with a level 3 covid protection level, you would need to change your holiday destination. As we cannot travel into or out of areas at level 3 or above.
We ask that our Guests work with us to ensure safety for all.
We recommend (if you haven’t already) that you download the protect Scotland NHS app https://protect.scot/
We ask that if you or any of your party feel unwell or exhibit symptoms of coronavirus, you take a test and self-isolate if positive. Keeping us and the NHS informed throughout.
We are VisitScotland “Good to Go” accredited, meaning we take our responsibilities seriously and have completed risk assessments prior to re-opening.
If the last year has taught us anything, it should be about mitigating risk. Our ways to offset risk of the virus include but are not limited to:
Self-Drive Campervan Hire:
No longer offering the service where we collect you from local train stations and hotels. We recommend Express Taxis, Falkirk. Tel. 01324 638000.
Asking our Guests to: where possible have one member of their party only come to our premises to collect or return campervans, respect and stick to the times we give you to come to our premises and thus avoid other parties.
We no longer provide bedding or towels. You must bring your own with you.
As we always have, we ask that you respect the roads, countryside, animals and communities and do not: drop litter, park where you shouldn’t, hold up other road users and follow the Outdoor Access Code. https://www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot/
Please watch this VisitScotland video before collecting your campervan. (If the youtube thumbnail link is not showing, you may need to copy the youtube URL to your browser.)
Outdoor access rights do not include motor vehicles. If public or private land owners restrict or regulate parking on their land, you must comply with this.
We recommend staying overnight in campsites, our favouites are here. Please check facilities are open in the campsites you choose.
Our Guests should never travel to areas of Scotland on level 3 or higher on the strategic framework. Please keep abreast of the latest Government information. https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-travel-and-transport/ This reality means that you must be flexible enough to change your destination plans at short notice. That’s what holidaying during the “new normal” involves.
Campervan Weddings & Events:
Scottish Government advice is currently that you should avoid travel with other households where possible. https://www.transport.gov.scot/coronavirus-covid-19/transport-transition-plan/advice-on-how-to-travel-safely/ We understand that this will not always be possible for our Brides and Grooms but please be aware our vehicles are not large enough to facilitate physical distancing and therefore masks must be worn at all times.
We recommend a maximum of three people seated in Meg’s (front-facing) back seat and our chauffeur only in the front seat.
As we will not be able to offer refreshments, our chauffeur will leave our gift of a bottle of Champagne at the address he collects you from.
Weather permitting Meg’s windows should be open.
At your venue, we will no longer be able to allow your Wedding Guests to sit in Meg for selfies etc. Only your named passengers can do so.
We hope that these measures keep us all safe as we navigate the “new normal” together. We cannot anticipate every twist and turn of the covid rollercoaster, so please let us know if you have any further concerns. Thanks for helping us re-open safely by respecting our guidance.
